Everything Rockstar Has Confirmed About GTA 6

Image: Rockstar Games
Every fact on this page comes from Rockstar Games, Take-Two Interactive, Sony or Microsoft — their own websites, their own store listings, their own investor communications. Nothing on it comes from a leak, a datamine, a forum post or a confident sentence somebody wrote without a source.
That constraint produces an unusual result for a page answering "what do we know about GTA 6": the confirmed record is short, and the list of things nobody outside Rockstar knows is long. Both halves are here, and the second is arguably the more useful one.
The confirmed record, in one screen
- Release date: November 19, 2026.
- Platforms: PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Nothing else.
- Price: $79.99 Standard, $99.99 Ultimate, in US dollars.
- Pre-load: November 12, 2026. The boxed copy is a download code, not a disc.
- Setting: the fictional state of Leonida. Six regions named.
- Cast: eight characters profiled by Rockstar, four more named in passing.
- Named businesses: eight, all of them Ultimate Edition items.
- Named weapons: four. Named vehicles: seven.
- Form: Take-Two calls it "a single-player experience."
Everything below expands one of those lines. Everything Rockstar has not said is gathered at the end.
Release: the only part of this game that is fully documented
Rockstar's own site reads "Coming November 19, 2026," and that date has a paper trail behind it — a November 6, 2025 Newswire post moved the game to that Thursday, and Rockstar has reconfirmed it since without further change. Take-Two's June 24, 2026 pre-order release prices the game at $79.99 for the Standard Edition and $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition, names the two consoles, and lists where it will be sold: the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Rockstar Games Store, and global retailers.
Digital pre-orders unlock pre-loading on November 12, a week early. The physical version is available starting November 12 for exactly that reason, and contains a download code — Rockstar's own store panel states that a disc will not be included in the box, which our disc guide covers in full. Digital pre-orders also carry a free month of GTA+, which auto-renews into a paid subscription unless cancelled, and every pre-order or purchase before November 20, 2026 gets the Vintage Vice City Pack. The pre-order bonuses guide and the Standard vs. Ultimate comparison break down what each one actually contains; the release, editions and pre-order guide carries the full timeline.
One line is worth quoting because so much rests on it. Take-Two describes the game as "a single-player experience set in the biggest, most immersive evolution of the series yet," and Sony's FAQ repeats the single-player framing. That is the closest any publisher has come to describing the game's shape.

Setting: a state, six regions, and no map at all
Grand Theft Auto VI is set in the state of Leonida. Rockstar's People & Places page opens with "Home to the neon-soaked streets of Vice City and beyond," and describes Jason and Lucia ending up "on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state." A state rather than a city is a real change in the unit Rockstar is working in, and it is as close to a statement about scale as the official record gets.
Six regions are named, each one attached to a character on that page and each given its own set of official screenshots:
| Region | What Rockstar's own material shows |
|---|---|
| Vice City | The urban core; twelve screenshots |
| Leonida Keys | The island chain where the story starts |
| Grassrivers | Inland wetland — airboats, alligators |
| Port Gellhorn | Faded roadside motels at night |
| Ambrosia | A rural county with a motorcycle club |
| Mount Kalaga National Park | Forested ridges and backcountry |
Read that table for what it is: a statement about variety, not size. Six kinds of terrain is verifiable; six is not a measurement. Rockstar's own wording invites you to "tour a few of the must-see destinations across the sunshine state" — a few, which makes the list explicitly incomplete rather than a ceiling. Our regions guide walks through each one.
A dozen more place names exist because Rockstar wrote them into edition copy rather than into any description of the world: Stockyard, Lake Leonida, Southside Vice City, Watson Bay, Washington Beach, Gambit Bay, Ocean Beach, Shore Drive, the Paradise Garage, the Vercetti Estate, the Ocean View Hotel and the Leonida Penitentiary. Each has its own record in the locations database. Most of them amount to a name in a sentence about a car.
What does not exist is a map. Rockstar has published no state map, no city map, no district breakdown of Vice City, no road layout, no dimensions and no area figure in any unit. Its media section runs to 99 screenshots, a video gallery and an artwork set, with no map anywhere in it; the closest thing is six regional travel postcards, deliberately not cartographic. Every square-mileage figure and every "X times bigger than GTA 5" multiplier in circulation originates somewhere other than Rockstar — the whole subject of how big is the GTA 6 map.

The cast: eight profiles, four more names
Rockstar's Only in Leonida page profiles eight characters, each with a short bio and a handful of voiced lines. That page is the whole of the published cast list.
Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos are the two playable leads, framed as a pair rather than as separate stories. Cal Hampton is Jason's friend and a fellow associate of Brian Heder, the veteran Keys smuggler who houses Jason rent-free in exchange for help with local shakedowns. Boobie Ike and Dre'Quan Priest are partners in the Only Raw Records label, to which the duo Real Dimez has just signed. Raul Bautista leads his own crew of bank robbers and is the outlier — nothing in Rockstar's copy connects him by name to either of the other two circles.
Four more names appear elsewhere, and the distinction matters because they arrive with far less attached. Wyman is an "eccentric collector and local fixer" named only in Ultimate Edition copy. Lori is Brian's third wife, named in one clause of his bio. DWNPLY is a local rapper credited on an early Real Dimez single. Macca the Gator is not a person at all — Rockstar calls him a character from an in-fiction hit TV show whose likeness ends up on merchandise. None of the four has a Rockstar character profile, and none should be read as a member of the main cast, though each has its own record in the character database. The confirmed character guide walks through the eight profiles in full.

Businesses, weapons and vehicles: named because you can buy them
One pattern runs through most of the confirmed record. Rockstar has published no description of the game's shops, its arsenal or its traffic; what it has published is a Compare Editions panel, and a number of proper nouns happen to live inside it.
Eight businesses are itemised as Ultimate Edition content: Rideout Customs, One-Eyed Willie's, Stock 305, Sara's Salon, Electric Fang, Goodtime Gear, PTT Youngin$ and Wyman's Classic Car Collection. Rockstar places only four of them: Electric Fang and Stock 305 in Stockyard, One-Eyed Willie's in Lake Leonida, PTT Youngin$ in Southside Vice City. Its most specific claim about any of the eight is a count of tattoos — "over 50 signature tattoos for both Jason and Lucia — all designed by the artist collective FAILE." No lineup of base-game businesses has been published at all. The businesses guide covers each in turn.

Four weapons are named, and all four trace to the same source. The Hawk and Little Morgan Revolvers and the Personalized Weapon Variants are Ultimate Edition items; the Girardi ES9 and the Klose K17 are Jason's and Lucia's own sidearms, named only because Rockstar mentioned them while describing that engraving bundle — which makes them the only two a Standard Edition buyer is known to get. There is no roster, no stat, no price and no weapon-wheel screenshot anywhere: see the confirmed weapons guide.

Seven vehicles carry a Rockstar-written name: the '95 Grotti Cheetah, the Shitzu Squalo, the '55 Vapid Stanier, the Vapid Ganado, the '67 Vapid Dominator Buggy, the Dinka Enduro and a kayak. Every other entry in the vehicle database is an identification made from Rockstar's own trailers and screenshots rather than from a Rockstar sentence, and each record is labelled accordingly — the trailer vehicle guide keeps the two kinds strictly apart.
What Rockstar has not confirmed
This section is the reason the page exists. Every item below is a gap in the published record, stated plainly rather than filled with an estimate.
- No PC version. None announced, no window, and no statement that one is planned — covered in is GTA 6 coming to PC.
- No last-generation version. Sony has published outright that the game will not be available for PlayStation 4; Microsoft simply lists Xbox Series X|S and nothing else. See can you play GTA 6 on PS4 or Xbox One.
- No Game Pass or PS Plus release. No company has announced one, and the free GTA+ month attached to digital pre-orders is a different product entirely — the subscription guide takes that apart.
- No install or download size. Not on the game site, not on the store, not in Take-Two's announcement.
- No unlock time. Rockstar has published the date and nothing about the hour: no announced unlock time, no stated time zone, and nothing about whether the release rolls out region by region. Our countdown counts to midnight where you are, and says so.
- No missions. Not one is named, described or dated. No structure, no count, no length.
- No radio stations. Across every Rockstar page this database tracks, not a single station, DJ or licensed track has been named.
- No wildlife detail. Alligators, deer, a cougar and an iguana appear in official screenshots. Rockstar has published no list, no taxonomy and no description of how any of it behaves.
- No GTA Online plans for VI. Take-Two describes a single-player experience; no online mode for this game has been announced, and no cross-buy, upgrade path or save transfer has been published either.
- No rating. Take-Two states the game "is not yet rated"; Rockstar's store shows the ESRB interim label "Rating Pending — Likely Mature", which is a placeholder shown during review rather than an assigned rating.
- No prices for anything in the game. Not a car, a haircut, a tattoo or a gun.
A great deal of material circulates that appears to answer these questions — maps with district labels, weapon rosters, mission lists, storage figures. None of it comes from Rockstar Games or Take-Two, and this site does not carry it, link to it or summarise it, because repeating an unverifiable claim is how it survives.
How to check any GTA 6 claim yourself
The test is short and works on any page, this one included: ask where the claim came from. A real answer is a link to rockstargames.com, store.rockstargames.com, playstation.com, xbox.com or a Take-Two investor release, with the claim visible on that page. Anything else is somebody's estimate wearing a fact's clothing.
Applied honestly, that test leaves roughly one screen of information about the biggest release of 2026 — which is the accurate state of things, seventy-odd days out. This page will be revised as Rockstar publishes more, and every addition will arrive with the source that justifies it.
